The hunted
becomes the hunter.
Named after
a trap.
The Cobra is the only manoeuvre in fighter aviation where you win by stopping.
A jet with an opponent on its tail stands up on its own exhaust, pitching the nose past vertical to 120 degrees of angle of attack while the airframe keeps sliding forward. Airspeed falls off a cliff. The chaser, committed and fast, cannot slow down in time. He flies straight past underneath. The nose comes back down, and it comes down on his tail.
That is the team. Patience under pressure, a decision taken late, and a reversal nobody saw coming. It is also the logo: one jet standing on its tail, one jet already gone past, and the shot that follows.
Frame by frameOne of ten permanent franchises. The grid is capped. There will never be an eleventh.
Each unit is an aircraft, a pilot and a gamer. Unit 07 and Unit 70. Both must score.
Doha in February to Miami in November, five continents, one freight break.
Minus one for every hit taken. The sport keeps an honest ledger.

Fly with us.
The nose of the jet, the chest of the gamer, the name of the team. One brand gets all three.
Team partnerships are structured in four rungs below the title position, on a multi-sponsor livery. The inventory, the audience and the trade are set out on the partners page. Pricing is discussed directly.

Hunted
A bandit is at six o'clock and closing. Running is what he expects. Turning hard is what he is ready for.
Stand up
Nose to 120 degrees. The jet keeps sliding forward on its original path while airspeed collapses. The airframe is a barn door.
Overshoot
He cannot bleed that much speed that fast. He flies past, underneath. The roles have swapped and he does not know it yet.
Guns
Nose comes down onto his tail. The pilot holds the geometry. The gamer on the ground pulls the trigger. Plus one.
Energy is a currency.
Every fight in the sky is an argument about energy. Speed and altitude are what you spend to turn, to climb and to point the nose. The chaser arrives with more of it than you have, and he is spending it on closing.
The Cobra does something no turn can do: it converts almost all of your airspeed into position in under three seconds, with the velocity vector barely moving. You are suddenly the slowest thing in the sky, and he is suddenly in front of it. In the Jet World Championship the shot is adjudicated by the Combat System from targeting geometry, which is the only thing the manoeuvre leaves you with. That is enough.
The manoeuvre is named after Viktor Pugachev, who flew it at the Paris Air Show in 1989. It is the ethos of the team, not a line in our technical regulations: what our Falcon does on Sunday is decided by its flight-control laws and our pilots, not by a logo.
Two units.
Four athletes.
A Competition Unit is one aircraft, one pilot and one gamer, registered together and eligible together. The pilot flies and positions. The gamer, from a ground station, operates every weapon and every countermeasure. Neither can score alone.

Six
Thursday build, Friday practice, Saturday qualifying, Sunday Grand Battle. Two airframes, one spare, turned in minutes.
Seat requirements.
Commercial Pilot Certificate with a type rating on the declared airframe. ICAS ACE Card at Level 4 or above with the Dogfight endorsement. FAA Class I or II medical within six months of every event. Competition aircraft are flown without supplemental oxygen.
Eighteen or over. Registered to one Competition Unit, exclusive for the event. Qualified on the JWC Combat System and signed into the Gamer Briefing at every round before touching the station.
Applications for both seats open with the pre-season announcement. Pilots and gamers who think they fit should write to the team now rather than then.
F-16
Fighting Falcon.
Declared at registration and fixed for the season under the same-airframe rule. Both competition units and the spare are the same type. Fully demilitarised and civil-registered.
| Crew | Single seat | Role in JWC | Competition aircraft, two units plus one registered alternate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Length | 15.06 m | Wingspan | 9.96 m |
| Powerplant | Single afterburning turbofan | Thrust-to-weight | Greater than one at combat weight |
| Flight controls | Fly-by-wire, relaxed static stability | Load limit | 9 g |
| Livery | Ink and bone, no colour | Numbers | 07 and 70, tail and intake |
The Falcon is also declared by Gravity Jet Team. The Airframe Award is scored by type across the season, so every point either of us takes is a point for the Falcon.
Built to point.
A fighter designed from the first sketch to be unstable, so that the computers can make it do what a stable aeroplane can't: change where the nose is pointing faster than its opponent can follow. In a sport scored on targeting geometry, nose authority is the whole game.
It is light, it is quick to turn around between sorties, and there are more of them in civil hands than any other front-line type. That matters when the rule says all three of your aircraft must be identical.

Fourteen rounds.
Every round is a four-day weekend: opening ceremony Thursday, practice Friday, qualifying Saturday, Grand Battle Sunday. Dates shown are the competition weekend; the countdown is to Sunday.
Calendar as published by the Championship; dates and venues are subject to the Season 2029 sporting regulations.
Standings.
Pre-season. Every team on zero until Doha scores the first point. Shown in grid order.
Event points: +1 for a confirmed hit, −1 for a hit sustained. Championship points by finishing position per the Technical Regulations. Ties at season end are settled by a sudden-death sortie at the final venue.
Real jets.
Electronic guns.
The pilot lines up the shot. The gamer pulls the trigger. Win, and you needed both.
Ten teams fly real, airworthy, demilitarised fighter jets in designated competition airspace. Every weapon is electronic: a central Combat System reads high-frequency positioning data from every aircraft, works out the targeting geometry in real time and adjudicates every shot. Its word is final. No live munitions, ever.
The pilot
Flies, manoeuvres, positions for advantage and evades incoming fire. Never touches a weapon. Hears Operations Control over everything else.
The gamer
Works a live radar feed from a Championship-supplied station. Selects guns, missiles or rockets, fires the instant the geometry is right, deploys flares and countermeasures against threats.
The hit
A confirmed hit fires the aircraft's smoke system for the crowd. The pilot leaves the airspace, lands, and rejoins the take-off queue. One point moves across the ledger.

What is at stake.
Five season titles: Best Team, Best Pilot, Best Gamer, the Airframe Award by type, and the Grand Battle Prize at every round. The team with the most points is not guaranteed to produce the best pilot or the best gamer. We intend to argue with that.
Sanctioned for safety by the International Aerial Combat Sports Federation, the independent body to the JWC as the FIA is to Formula 1.
What a team
can sell you.
A name, a livery, two pilots, two gamers and a story with a result at the end of every Sunday.
A team gives narrative, athletes and the livery. The Championship gives category exclusivity, global IP and the “Official JWC” designation, which no team can grant at any price. Team deals in a category held by a championship exclusive are cleared with JWC Holdings first.
Team partnership values carry the exposure of the Championship's own marketing commitment behind every round, and scale as the sport's brand equity compounds. Pricing is discussed directly with the commercial director and is not published.
